Structured Pitching Development · Ages 8+

Not Session-Based Training.
A Defined Development System.

TAP Athletes Foundations is a progression-based program built to produce repeatable mechanics, consistent command, and lasting performance — session by session, phase by phase.

How Foundations Works

Every athlete follows the same structured entry point. The system evaluates where you are, places you correctly, and builds from there.

01

In-Person Assessment

Every athlete begins with a free, structured evaluation before a single training session starts. This is not a tryout — there are no right or wrong answers, and no score to be concerned about. The goal is to understand where your athlete is starting so every session is the right fit for them.

The evaluation covers athlete background, a full warm-up with movement quality grading, four athleticism benchmarks (broad jump, balance, med ball throw, acceleration), and a flat-ground throwing observation. Everything is documented and produces a starting phase, an effort band, and a first session recommendation specific to your athlete.

02

Phase Placement

Based on the assessment, the athlete is assigned a specific phase and subphase. Training starts at the right level — not too early, not too late.

03

Progression-Based Training

Athletes advance by demonstrating execution and consistency — not by simply showing up. Each session builds on the last. Skills compound over time.

There's no required weekly session count — athletes train at a pace that fits their schedule. That said, athletes who average 2 sessions per week generally complete one subphase per month. Up to 8 sessions per month are available.
Behind the Assessment

What Actually Happens
at the Assessment

Not a coach watching your athlete throw for 20 minutes. A documented, six-part process with specific outputs — not impressions.

A note for parents and athletes

This assessment is not a test. There are no right or wrong answers, and no score to be concerned about. The goal is to understand where your athlete is starting so every session is the right fit for them.

01
Athlete Background

Training history, competitive experience, and current season status — scored to determine starting phase. Parents can complete this before arriving.

02
Pitch Repertoire & Game Knowledge

What pitches the athlete throws, how long they've been throwing each, and a brief game knowledge check. Works for all ages and experience levels.

03
Warm-Up Quality Grading

Every movement in the TAP Athletes Universal Warm-Up is graded 1–5 in real time. This becomes a movement quality baseline re-graded at future sessions to show progress.

04
Athleticism Benchmarks

Four tests post-warm-up while the athlete is already loose. Dated and retested regularly to track athletic development independent of pitching mechanics.

Broad Jump Single-Leg Balance — Eyes Closed Rotational Med Ball Throw 10-Yard Acceleration

Eyes closed — measuring proprioception, not just balance.

05
Movement Observation

Coach watches 8–12 throws at low effort on flat ground and identifies the dominant movement pattern. Determines the athlete's category and their very first session.

06
Assessment Output

Parts 1 and 5 convert into three specific outputs. The athlete leaves with a documented start profile — not a general impression of how they looked.

Built Around Consistent Progress

The program is structured to eliminate guesswork and scheduling friction. Reserved time slots mean no weekly booking — just consistent training.

Reserved Weekly Slots

Training times are assigned in advance. No weekly booking. No scheduling friction. Just show up and develop.

Execution-Based Advancement

No athlete moves to the next phase just by attending. Advancement is earned by demonstrating the ability to perform and repeat the skills being trained.

Typical Monthly Progress

At 2× per week · Effort Band 1 entry
Sessions 1–2Effort Band 1 · Constraint introduced · Movement-first
Sessions 3–4Effort Band 1 · Constraint reinforced · Quality over intent
Sessions 5–6Effort Band 2 · Stability check · Repeatability assessed
Sessions 7–8Effort Band 2 · Phase readiness · Advancement earned, not assumed

All new athletes enter at Effort Band 1. Progression to Band 2 requires demonstrated movement quality and effort awareness — not attendance.

Foundations vs. Traditional Lessons

Private lessons and Foundations serve different purposes. Understanding the difference helps families make the right choice.

Foundations Program
  • Developmental — follows a defined progression toward lasting results
  • Each session builds on the last — continuity is built in
  • Repeatable mechanics and consistent performance over time
  • Reserved weekly slots — no rebooking, no scheduling friction
Traditional Lessons
  • Reactive — addresses recent game problems session to session
  • No structured path forward between sessions
  • Short-term fixes that may not carry over to games
  • Booked individually as needed, no continuity required

Lessons are adjustments. Foundations is development. Many athletes benefit from both — but they solve different problems.

Who Foundations Is Built For

This program is designed for athletes who are ready for a structured, consistent approach to development.

Athletes Ages 8+

Any pitcher 8 years and up who is ready to commit to structured training. No experience level required.

Struggling with Consistency

Athletes whose mechanics aren't repeatable, who regress after instruction, or who can't transfer skills to game situations.

Had Instruction, No Lasting Results

Athletes who have received coaching but haven't seen lasting progress. Foundations addresses the underlying cause — lack of progression structure.

New to Pitching

Athletes who are just beginning and need a clear, structured starting point rather than uncoordinated drop-in sessions.

All-Facility or Hybrid

The Foundations program is available in two formats. Both follow the same structured progression — the difference is where training happens.

Core

All-Facility

Every session takes place at the TAP Athletes facility. This is the standard program format — full access to training equipment and a controlled environment built for development.

  • All sessions at the TAP facility
  • 2 sessions per week (recommended pace)
  • Up to 8 sessions per month
  • Reserved weekly time slots
$510/month
Book Assessment

Both options follow the exact same Foundations progression. Format doesn't change the program — it changes where you train. Every athlete still begins with an in-person assessment at the facility.

Introductory Option

Foundations Prep

For younger athletes, beginners, or families new to structured training.

Foundations Prep is a one-month introductory program — two 30-minute sessions per week. It's a controlled entry point designed to prepare athletes for the full Foundations program.

  • 2 sessions per week, 30 minutes each
  • One-month commitment
  • Prepares athlete for full Foundations program
  • Ideal for ages 8–10 or first-time pitchers

Foundations Prep is not a long-term replacement for Foundations. After one month, athletes transition into the full program for continued development.

Every Athlete Begins With an Assessment

The intake assessment is free, 90 minutes, and the only way into the Foundations program. We evaluate mechanics on the mound, document everything on video, and ask the questions that help us build the right plan for your athlete specifically.

1Book your free 90-minute intake assessment
2Attend in-person — athlete and parent both welcome
3Receive phase placement and your athlete's development path
4Begin training on your reserved schedule
